Ceremony and Reception
The ceremony was performed at Downsview (Dong San) Presbyterian Church in Toronto, Ontario, by Pastor Sang Ho An and co-officiated by
my Catholic priest Father Peter Fleming on May 16, 1998 at 12:00 Noon.
It was a basic Christian wedding ceremony in both Korean and English. Check out our wedding program.
The reception was held at the Armenian Centre in Scarborough, Ontario and catered by Rembrant's Caterers. The food and
the service were superb. The guests had sushi during cocktail (which the wedding party missed, in order to snooze for a few
minutes in their hotel rooms). Dinner was served -- chicken with peppercorn sauce as main course, with side trimmings of
veggies and rice.
Bride's Gown
I fell in love with it the moment I laid my eyes on it. I got it from Harlow Bridal and Tuxedo in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The salesperson was polite and patient. As a matter of fact, she was the one who found my gown. Thanks Dawn. And the
seamstress was very nice. Thanks Laura!
Groom's Tux
Young had a tough time looking for the perfect tuxedo. He finally found the one he wanted at Mister Neat's Formalwear in
Colorado Springs. The salesperson was absolutely wonderful -- thanks Raedon. He finally decided on the "Ralph Lauren
Shawl Lapel Double Breasted" tuxedo with a gold vest bamboo pattern and matching euro-tie. He looked handsome.
Colors and Flowers
My bridesmaids (Vanessa Brunetti and Maritess Tolentino) wore beautiful sleeveless, burgundy lace stretch top dresses with
long flared skirt and matching bolero jackets (which they didn't wear). They're from Fairweather's 1997 Bridesmaid Spring
Collection "Chantal" in Scarborough, Ontario.
The theme we picked for flowers were calla lillies, stargazers and carnations. The bride's bouquet was all white -- with calla
lillies, stargazers, and carns. The bridesmaids each carried 3 burgundy calla lillies with a ribbon. Flowers at the altar were
white with a touch of burgundy -- calla lillies, stargazers, gladiolas, and carns. The flowers were graciously crafted by Sophia
Sam of Birchmount Florist in Scarborough, Ontario. The bouquets were so nice that I had them preserved.
Decorations at the reception hall were done by Kimberly Smith of Down the Aisle in Scarborough, Ontario. The tulle and
lights were amazing, the pictures don't show justice to it.
Photography
Our photos were taken by Jason from A Touch of Class in Toronto, Ontario. Jason was wonderful and I wouldn't hesitate to
recommend him. I can't wait for our photos!
We also got lots of candid shots with the help of our guests and Kodak disposable cameras. Some of the pictures turned out
great. Look for yourself in our album.
Cake
Our Italian style cake was designed by Louisa from Bona Via in Scarborough, Ontario. It was a three tiered pure white cake
with custard filling, decorated with a beautiful assortment of flowers. It was heavenly delicious!
Entertainment
Lester from Chameleon Sounds was our DJ. He presented a wide array of music, from the 70's, 80's, and 90's and by
request. He did great! Loved those comments during the "bouquet toss" and "removal of the garter" Lester...
Limousine
Kimberly from Down the Aisle recommended Park Lane Luxury Coach, it was a good choice! Our contact, Dana, gave us
a 1998 White Lincoln 6 passenger stretch. The driver (Guido) was courteous, patient, and thoughtful. He even came to bring
us an umbrella when it started raining while we were taking pictures at the park.
Guildwood Park
The park is located on the edge of the Scarborough Bluffs. The area west of Guild Inn contains mature forest and pleasant
walking trails, historic stone sculptures and arches in strolling grounds of Guild Inn open to the public. I can not find the proper
words to describe Guildwood Park, it's just so beautiful.
